Conference Venue

The conference is hosted by the School of Mathematics and Mechanics of the St. Petersburg State University, Russia's oldest and one of the most renowned educational and scientific centres.

The School's campus is located in Peterhof, the most beautiful royal palace suburb of St. Petersburg on the Finnish Gulf shore, known as the “Russian Versailles” for its unrivalled system of exquisite fountains created by Peter the Great. Surrounded by a necklace of beautiful parks and imperial palaces, the campus is a true resort just half an hour away from the busy metropolis of St. Petersburg (accessible by boat, bus or commuter train) with its world famous museums, theatres and palaces lined along the rivers and canals of the “Northern Venice”.

The conference's dates grant the participants a most unique opportunity to see this wonder of the world in its best — during the celebrated White Nights.

St. Petersburg can be easily reached by plane — all major European airlines fly regularly to its international airport Pulkovo, which is quite conveniently connected with Peterhof by a freeway. St. Petersburg is also served by regular trains from Helsinki (Finland), Berlin (Germany) and Warsaw (Poland). Alternatively, one may consider visiting Moscow and taking an express train from there, which goes thrice a day and links the hearts of the two capitals of Russia by a trip as quick as less than four hours.
