SEAFOOD proceedings (Springer page)

SEAFOOD, the First International Conference on Software Engineering Approaches For Offshore and Outsourced Development (SEAFOOD) was held at ETH Zurich, Switzerland on 5-6 February 2007. The conference was a great success and a successor event will be held, again at ETH Zurich, in early 2008. Please watch out for announcements of SEAFOOD 2008.

 

Many thanks to all those who made SEAFOOD 2007 possible. The post-conference proceedings will be published as a volume in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science, available mid-2007.

 

The present site remains available as a source of information on SEAFOOD 2007.

About SEAFOOD

A profound transformation is affecting the world of software engineering: a massive transfer of development activities from the US and Europe to developing countries. The technical implications are considerable (see an overview article here), but have not been examined yet in any systematic fashion.

The aim of SEAFOOD is to examine offshore and outsourced development from a technical software engineering perspective. Topics include:

Conference location

The conference was held in the Auditorium Maximum in the main building (building HG for Hauptgebäude) of ETH Zurich. Street address: Rämistrasse 5, Zürich 6.

From the Zurich main station: take tram number 6 or 10 to "ETH/Universitätspital" stop (also served by tram 9 from Paradeplatz); or walk across the river to "Central" and take the "Polybahn" cable car to the entrance on Leonhardstrasse.

Publication

The proceedings of SEAFOOD will be a volume in the Springer LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science).
